I'm scared to tell them to save it for marriage (like I did, but yeah, no magical event on the honeymoon like I thought) because that seems like such an impossible thing. Also, though I didn't have sex before marriage, I certainly didn't live a chaste life. Porn was a problem, lust was a huge problem, over-committing to relationships way to early.
So, how do I talk to my kids about sex, and make it biblical, true and practical? Maybe this movie will help me avoid some pitfalls.

Re: Jesus, Don’t Let Me Die Before I Have Sex

Hi Shane. We will be talking to those who have had positive experiences as well. We are at the beginning of our process and need to secure some funding for the next round of interviews. Keep checking the website for updates.

Thanks for posting about us!

It is a great survey of this country's slide into humanism and the toll that took on the church's care of the poor. Here's a lengthy review of the book: http://defendingcontending.com...

Re: The 10 Most Popular Strategies for Helping the Poor–Are They Cost Effective?

Shane, I did a story for The Catholic Mirror last fall about a well drilling program in Africia organized by a man from Urbandale. The program is called Break the Cycle of Hunger, http://breakthecycleofhunger.o.... And I see that Lutheran Church of Hope in WDM has a huge well drilling program in Africa. They have done about 66 wells and are going to do another 30-some this year. Very important work!

YES! YES! I couldn't say it any better. Psalm 78, Deut 6, Ephesians 6 - All proclaim that the inter-generational family unit is the most powerful weapon to make faith 'stick' and raise up a godly generation. Programs, youth camps and big, one-time events do not come close to the same power as someone taking the time to sit, talk with, walk with, wrestle through tough questions, play with, encourage and help a young man or woman.

Re: Hits a Nerve, But Misses the Mark

I would love to share more of what the Lord has done in restoring not only a marriage and a new daughter, but also how our Lord is birthing a ministry through my wife and I called Heart of Purity Evangelism Ministry or HOPE for short. I was a slave to pornography and bisexuality and all while I was married with two children. I had confessed my porn problem to my wife but not my physical adultery with men. She was listening to a radio program that featured Mr. Arteburn and I went to a meeting in Colorado and learned how to bounce my eyes. This didn't last of course and after spending over $2500.00 between seminar fees and airline tickets I had no heart change. I found out about a ministry in Ky called Pure Life Ministries and went there leaving my family for 7months. I found Gods mercy thru Jesus and the preaching of the cross and after almost 7yrs I've been porn free ,remarried as my wife left me after a 22 yr of marriage and Jesus has made all things new. A great read is At The Alter of Sexual Idolotry by Steve Gallagher the founder of Pure Life. I would love to talk with you further as I love your awareness to the need for the preaching of the cross. Would love to

Re: Good News vs. Good Behavior

This is not just a problem for our youth, but for adults and even poastors. Our pastor said this Sunday, "I usually don't preach these (message was on the H.S.) kinds of sermons, I am usually telling you what to do."
Regarding his Christian testimony, Tebow has held himself very well and bears a great image.

Romans 16:19 Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I rejoice because of you; but I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil. Think of all the young people in the recent past who have made this kind of questionable decision. One quick example, Miley Cyrus in a satin sheet while claiming to be a good example of a Christian youth ~ nothing was showing, right? I just wish he would have skipped this one. Not because it is "wrong" but because it is questionable. 1 Peter 2:12 Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us. Because he is so outspoken about his faith, it would seem it would be important that there be no hint of impropriety.

Re: Tebow & Jockey

That didn't come out right. He's wearing shorts over the underwear! Good for him. Not sure why we constantly have to tell people they are in the wrong? God deals with each of us uniquely & to constantly judge every decision. Ugh. Sorry, can you tell I'm constantly scrutinized. It gets old. I live with cameras on my home. How would you like people to judge your every decision? That's between him & God

Re: Tebow & Jockey

Most pictures our kids see are seductive or suggestive.
